Montpelier Fiber Festival The following story was originally posted to the Knitlist by Jayne McQuade, who has generously allowed us to present it here.
The scene: small child, pulling a toy on wheels. Toy is a small but realistic black sheep. Has real wool. Spied by Border Collie walking by with her mistress. Dog gives sheep the eye. Sheep continues across the grass. Dog circles around, closer, gives sheep the eye. Sheep keeps going. By now, a number of spectators realize what's going on. All lament lack of a video camera. Child picks up toy. Dog whines (in amazement??) "Hey, I was just about to get that sheep to do what she should! Now where is she?" That was one frustrated dog!
This is a great little festival. I loved the alpacas and their overlong bangs and sweet smiles, and heard an entertaining and informative talk about the various sheep breeds on hand. Questions or suggestions?? Contact us
